He graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Atmospheric Science while minoring in Applied Economics and Management at League’s Cornell University in Ithaca, New York. Prior to graduating, he worked for WETM-TV in nearby Elmira, New York as a weekend meteorologist.
The Massachusetts Broadcasters Association awarded Bannin with the First-Place award for Best On-Air Personality and for Best Weather Coverage he won an AP award along with several team Emmy and Regional Murrow awards. During his free time, he likes to watch Manchester United play soccer in the English Premier League and looks forward to adding Austin FC games to the mix.
