Before coming to the KENS 5 news team, Vanessa worked as the evening anchor and reporter at KAGS news in Bryan/College Station for two years ( from Jan 2017 -Dec 2018). Prior to that, she spent over 10 years serving as a high school teacher and counselor before taking a leap of faith in 2016 to pursue her vision of working in TV news. Vanessa taught and counseled about 2,000 students in her profession and credits her learners for inspiring her to follow her goals.
