Being a football player at Chamblee High School, he spent one of the Friday Nights on the field and now prefers to shine the spotlight on the next generation.
While working for FOX 5 News, he has been privileged to cover World Series, College Football Playoffs, the Masters, Super Bowls, and Daytona 500. He states that among his favorite assignments came in the summer of the year 2014 when he and Good Day Atlanta’s Ronn Gant covered the trio of Braves inducted into the Baseball Hall of Fame in Cooperstown, New York.
Prior to joining the FOX 5 News team, he was working with WJXT-TV Channel 4 News in Jacksonville, Florida Area. There, he was serving the station as a Photojournalist between February 2011 and October 2012. He has also worked with WNEG-TV in Toccoa, Ga. & Athens, Ga. There, he was serving the station as a Sports Director between July 2007 and January 2011.
He has also worked with UGA Athletic Association where he was a Digital Media Intern. He worked for the team in Athens, Georgia Area between January 2006 and May 2007. The Stone Mountain native was raised during a heyday of Atlanta sports. He experienced the 1996 Olympics, the Falcons’ 1998 Super Bowl run, and the Braves’ 1995 World Series title. He is now passing on his passion for the home teams with his son.
After graduating from the University of Georgia, Cody started his broadcasting career and honed his love for Friday nights under the lights at WNEG-TV in Toccoa, Georgia. He has also spent time at WJXT in Jacksonville, Florida.
