Prior to moving to South Florida from her Washington home, Janine served as the senior legislative correspondent for a United States senator on Capitol Hill. She was positioned on a team that handled health care policy, assisted pass a veterans’ bill into public law, and met with constituents.

Even though she’s not a South Florida native, Janine consumed most summers for nearly 2 decades with her family in Fort Lauderdale. She’s privileged to be on the inside of the news operation she frequently watched — whether she’s reporting on victims of crime, sorting through the breaking news of the night, or covering politics in South Florida.

When she’s not chasing news,  Janine makes art with metal and oil on canvas. She is also a force to be determined within the kitchen. Stanwood enjoys good exercise at the gym and a run on the beach with her better half, Michael.
