Aguirre works at WPLG-Local 10 as an anchor/correspondent. He co-anchors the station’s weekday 5:30 p.m., 4:30 p.m., and 3:30 p.m. newscasts. He also anchors the ten p.m. Local 10 newscasts on WSFL.

On Earth Day 2021, Louis was appointed WPLG Local 10’s Environmental Advocate and the face of a new station-wide campaign named Don’t Trash Our Treasure. A longtime and staunch defender of the planet, he brings awareness of environmental problems in South Florida with the purpose of seeking solutions.

Beginning his educational career at Telemundo in 1989, as a Spanish-language reporter, Louis eventually accepted a job at Local 10 as a reporter and then weekend anchor. He served at Local 10 from 1989 to 1992, during which time he was appointed as one of the few American journalists allowed into Cuba to cover the 30th anniversary of the Cuban missile crisis.

Louis would afterward spend 14 years at WSVN in Miami prior to moving to Los Angeles in 2014 to anchor the nationally syndicated program “The Insider.” He has also worked for “Extra,” served as co-host of “Fox and Friends” and as a lead correspondent for “A Current Affair.” In addition, Louis has guest starred on “Sex and the City,”  “Burn Notice,” “JAG,”  “All My Children” and “Guiding Light.” In his free time, he enjoys spending time at the beach with his two rescue dogs.
