In 1979, John transferred to WHAS Radio News in Louisville, Kentucky, where he switched to WHAS-TV News serving as a reporter two years later. John has been acknowledged throughout his broadcasting job statewide, regionally, and nationally. He has been a recipient of two Emmy Awards, a Columbia DuPont Citation, Ohio State Journalism Award.
John attended Eastern Kentucky University where he graduated in 1978 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Journalism.
