Liz Kreutz Work Experience

Kreutz works with KGO-TV where she has worked as a Weekend Anchor/Reporter since February 2020. She joined KGO-TV News as a Reporter and Fill-in Anchor. She undertook this role between May 2019 and February 2020 before moving to her current role at the station. Previously, she was also working with the ABC10 in Sacramento where she was working as an evening anchor and reporter. There she was part of a small team of reporters to win a local Emmy Award for outstanding coverage of the California wildfires.

In addition, she was also serving as the station’s spokesperson for the American Heart Association’s “Go Red for Women” campaign. She is also on the board of Directors for the Sacramento Press Club where she was co-chairing the scholarship program for aspiring journalists.

While growing up, among her favorite weekend rituals was waking up early in the morning and also gathering around her family where her dad was reading out loud from the Sunday Paper.  Nearly three decades later, she is happy to be working at her dream station in her home state of California.

She has worked as an intern at Good Morning America, which led to her role at ABC News, Glamour Magazine, and PBS’s POV social justice documentary series. Additionally, she spent about six years at the network working on and covering several major news stories. These include the election of Pope Francis during the 2013 papal conclave in Rome, the Charleston church shooting, the 2012 presidential and 2014 midterm elections, and the Sandy Hook shooting.

Additionally, she has also worked as an ABC News embedded reporter covering Hillary Clinton’s 2016 presidential campaign. This is an assignment of a lifetime that took him all over the country and gave him a front-row seat to one of the wildest campaigns in presidential history. She states that if Clinton was to win the election she would probably move to Washington, D.C. to continue covering her in the White House. However, she instead took the outcome of the race as a sign to make a move back to the West Coast.

Away from work, she enjoys being busy, and away from work she enjoys traveling, binging shows on Netflix, exploring the beauty, food, and wineries that Northern California has to offer, and listening to audiobooks.
