He then moved to Oklahoma City for KFOR-TV where Troy chased tornadoes. Bridges spent much of his time warning the people of Oklahoma about dangerous tornadoes, large-scale, and forecasting many ice storms that left thousands without power across the nation’s heartland.

Afterward from Oklahoma City, Bridges moved on to his biggest challenge. He moved to Little Rock where he worked at KLRT-TV as their first-ever chief meteorologist. Troy built the entire weather department from the ground up. Bridges spent five years covering countless tornado outbreaks and ice storms. In one memorable storm moment, he was on the air for eight hours non-stop, warning people about dangerous tornadoes and strong winds. Topping it all Bridges’ evening newscast at KLRT earned him an Emmy.

As a meteorologist, he received his certification from Mississippi State University. Troy is a member of both the American Meteorological Society and the National Weather Association and holds the seal of approval from the American Meteorological Society.
