Being an award-winning meteorologist he prepares people for the day ahead. He got his first job in television in Macon at WMAZ-TV while attending the University of Georgia.

While in the station Troy worked as a one-man-band reporter. He then became the morning and noon meteorologist and news anchor at WRDW-TV in Augusta, Ga. Bridges did weathercasts live from “The Masters” golf tournament. He was then recognized for “Best Weather” for his extended live coverage of Tropical Storm Floyd by the Associated Press. He then moved to Oklahoma City for KFOR-TV where Troy chased tornadoes. Bridges spent much of his time warning the people of Oklahoma about dangerous tornadoes, large-scale, and forecasting many ice storms that left thousands without power across the nation’s heartland.
Afterward from Oklahoma City, Bridges moved on to his biggest challenge. He moved to Little Rock where he worked at KLRT-TV as their first-ever chief meteorologist. Troy built the entire weather department from the ground up. Bridges spent five years covering countless tornado outbreaks and ice storms. In one memorable storm moment, he was on the air for eight hours non-stop, warning people about dangerous tornadoes and strong winds. Topping it all Bridges’ evening newscast at KLRT earned him an Emmy.
As a meteorologist, he received his certification from Mississippi State University. Troy is a member of both the American Meteorological Society and the National Weather Association and holds the seal of approval from the American Meteorological Society. Bridges love all kinds of food including Italian, sushi, and cedar plank salmon.
