From an early age, he wanted to carve out a profession as a television news reporter. For over twenty-five years as a journalist and storyteller, he has enjoyed a front-row seat to life. Since taking his first career as a reporter in 1997, Greg has won 56 Emmy Awards, 42 regional Edward R. Murrow Awards, and five National Edward R. Murrow Awards.

Greg is juggling many different responsibilities at WTVR. He produces two weekly franchises “Heroes Among Them” on Thursdays and “He Has a Story” on Fridays and anchors the “CBS6 Weekend Morning” show on Saturdays and Sundays with his co-workers and friend, meteorologist Mike Stone.

In 1991, he landed a job as an overnight disc jockey at KLHI-FM 101 on the Island of Maui, Hawaii. Greg also consumed seven months in Dublin, Ireland, and Belfast, Northern Ireland during an exchange program named, “Ireland: North and South.” He worked there as a political intern for a representative in the Irish Parliament while studying at the Institute of Public Administration and studied at Queen’s University and served as an intern with the BBC’s “Good Morning Ulster” radio program in Belfast.  Following graduation, Greg landed an entry-level job as a video archivist at WBZ-TV in Boston.

In 1997, he relocated to Bangor, Maine for his first full-time on-air reporting job at WVII-TV.  One of the highlights during his time in Maine was flying on a National Guard tanker over the Atlantic Ocean during a refueling mission concerning eight F-16 fighter jets. He also had a chance to play a bit part in the Stephen King film “Storm of the Century.”  In 1998, he returned to Boston to work at NECN as a weekend reporter. While there, he covered a wide range of New England and national stories including the 2000 Democratic National Convention in Los Angeles. One of the most unforgettable moments during his tenure at NECN was interviewing former Russian leaders Mikhail Gorbachev and Buzz Aldrin.

In October of 2000, Greg relocated to Richmond following accepting a career at WTVR as a military/political affairs reporter. During his time at WTVR, he had some remarkable experiences including flying to and sleeping on the U.S.S. George H. W. Bush and U.S.S. Dwight D. Eisenhower in the middle of the Atlantic Ocean.

In the spring of 2005, Greg traveled all over the pond to England to explore the historic link between the U.K. and Virginia for the 400th anniversary of the founding of Jamestown.  In 2007, he had the incredible chance to return to England and work at the BBC in Kent, England. Each week, since 2014, he has had the joy of producing a segment named “Heroes Among Us.” Greg shares the stories of individuals who are making a positive impact on central Virginia. In his spare time, he likes to travel the world and hunt for Civil War relics with his metal detectors on old battlefields.
