While there, she anchored the weekend newscasts and operated as both photographer and reporter for her own news stories.
Nine months after, Reba accepted a job at KTXS-TV in Abilene, Texas where she served as a primary anchor and education reporter for five years before relocating to Richmond in 2000. In 2005, she left CBS 6 and shifted to Alexandria, Virginia with her husband. While there, she served as a freelance reporter and anchor in the DC-area television market for WTTG, WBAL, Hearst Broadcasting, and CNN Newsource where she had a chance to report national politics from Capitol Hill and the White House.
In August 2009, Reba moved back to Richmond, and CBS 6. She restarted her former position as co-anchor of CBS 6 This morning. The big reason for her move back was her beautiful little girl, Jillian. She consistently thought of Richmond as a good location to raise a family. Reba has earned The National Association of Black Journalists Salute to Excellence Award and the prestigious Edward R. Murrow Award for the documentary, “Richmond’s Slave Trade: Breaking the Chains of Silence.” She is part of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated, and The National Association of Black Journalists.
