Before diving back into local news, Dart reported as a news show host and news anchor, from the scene of major stories, at MSNBC. Gulistan’s duties crossed over to the NBC Network. He served as a newsreader for NBC’s Weekend Today Show and contributed to NBC Weekend Nightly News.
Gulistan also developed an important connection as an anchor and reporter at the NBC affiliate on the West Coast in Portland, Oregon, and Medford, Oregon. Dart has been on the front line of national breaking news such as forest fires in Oregon and Florida, national politics, and hurricanes.
He has managed to win several awards in his career including, Regional Emmy Awards for investigative reporting and writing and other AP awards for reporting and spot news coverage.
Gulistan supports several charities including the March of Dimes, which is near and dear to his heart due to his and his wife’s situation of losing a child in 1998 to a birth defect. In the Seattle area, Dart has also supported other charities including Alzheimer’s Association, Children’s Hospital, Rotary Club, Highline Community College, and Lupus Foundation. Gulistan is a past board member of the Boys and Girls Club and the Salvation Army.
