After that, Shelley moved to Steubenville, Ohio to work as the morning anchor/reporter; then Jacksonville, Florida as a reporter; and St. Louis, Missouri a fill-in anchor/reporter prior to coming back to Pittsburgh to WPXI as a reporter.
Bortz has also held the position of Public Address Announcer for the University of Pittsburgh Women’s Basketball Team for 3 seasons. She also received a full scholarship to play basketball at Gannon University. Shelley has also been Mrs. Pennsylvania America and Mrs. Ohio United States and she was inducted into the Fayette County Sports Hall of Fame.
