Previously before joining the KCRA family, Steele worked for FOX 40 KTXL-TV in Sacramento, California where he served as an evening news anchor. He served the station from July 2015 to September 2018.

From August 2013 to July 2015 Steele served as an evening news anchor on KMTR TV in Springfield, Oregon. Ty brought unique and important stories that concerned Western Oregon. He was promoted to this station after two years by KVAL-TV’s company’s second station, the NBC affiliate KMTR.

Previously he worked at KVAL-TV from September 2011 to July 2013 as an anchor and reporter. His passion for finding the truth and telling unique and important stories quickly earned him a position as the station’s weekend anchor. Ty has worked at UWTV Productions as a TV Producer/Reporter from June 2010 to September 2011. He enterprise news features for UWTV’s magazine-style TV shows.

When Ty was 8 years old, he knew he wanted to work in news. He may not have fully understood the news stories he delivered on his paper route, as a third-grader, but he knew the job was important. While in college, Steele began as a journalist by writing for various neighborhood newspapers and local news websites in Seattle, Washington. However, it wasn’t long before Steele realized he could combine his journalism writing skills with his love for storytelling to start a career in TV news.
